Valid for One Year 

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

The AHA Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Course is designed for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as Pharmacist, Correctional Officers, Childcare workers, Security guards, Maintenance workers, School personnel, Hotel housekeepers, Health and fitness club staff, and Tattoo artists.

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course Options

This course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and tagline, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act™,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training.

Students learn how to:

We offer interactive, fun - online BLS Provider, CPR AED, and First Aid Courses. This class features 100% Live Instruction from a Licensed Teacher & Certified EMT Instructor, who is both a licensed Teacher and Certified NYS EMT. The BLS CPR AED course includes Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED Training, the use of a Bag Valve Mask (BVM), and treatment for Choking. Students will also learn how to use an Epi-Pen for anaphylaxis and how to administer Narcan for an opioid overdose. Course Materials are included: Student Manual, Quick Reference Charts, and Quick Reference Guide Booklet. Following the online course, appointments can be made for a quick hands-on skills assessment to finalize certification.

Students are able to complete online training at their own pace and on their own schedule, anywhere and anytime an internet connection is available. The Heartsaver CPR AED for K-12 Schools course is the equivalent to our CPR AED courses but is discounted for Students, Teachers, Coaches, and all other Faculty at K-12 Schools.  In this class, participants learn to provide CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.  Participants in this class will also learn advanced CPR skills and techniques.

      What Skills will I learn in this course? 

• How to recognize common emergencies, assess a scene, and patient assessment. 
• High-quality CPR for Adult, Child, & Infants.  How to effectively use an AED.  
• How to treat/save a victim who is Choking. 
• How to Perform the Heimlich Maneuver.
